The webinar aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the complexities and stakeholders involved in the ethical decision-making process and timely response to critical incidents in sport at Major Games/Events. Through a combination of research insights, practical application strategies, and personal reflections, this presentation will provide attendees with practical case examples and cooperative group activities to apply the model.
Participants will gain insight in the application of the model in a variety of contexts within sport (e.g., major competitions, in the DTE, with minors/youth athletes) and with diverse populations (OLY/PLY).This webinar is pending Continuing Education Unit credits (CEU) for certified CMPCs.

Student-led CSPA Mini-Conference
The Alberta and British Columbia regions are hosting an exciting virtual Student-led CSPA Mini-Conference.
We will learn from four wonderful presenters: Elise Lacoste, PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary and CMPC; Angie Fan, MHK from the University of Ottawa and Provisional MPC; Kyle Bergh, MHK from the University of Ottawa; and Sarah Lindsay, PhD Candidate. They will share their current research, and participants will have the opportunity to discuss questions prompted by the findings.

Understanding and Fostering Social Identity in Sport Teams and Sport Organizations
We are pleased to invite you to join the conversation on August 21st, where we will explore understanding and fostering social identity in sport teams and sport organizations guided by Dr. Mark Bruner and Dr. Meredith Schertzinger from the Nipissing University.
This webinar will explore social identity as a crucial mechanism through which participation in sport and physical activity can enhance mental health. The interactive workshop will begin with an overview of social identity and its three core elements. Additionally, it will cover the team and individual benefits associated with enhanced social identity. Participants will then engage in breakout rooms to develop practical strategies for building strong social identities within their sport teams or organizations.

The Mentorship Committee invites our mentors to join on June 24th at 7:00pm ET /4:00pm PT, where we will explore “How to find a balance between too much, or not enough feedback for mentees” through the lens of Laura G. Farres (PhD, ChPC, RCC, CMPC), Simon Taylor (CMPC) and Matthew Bain (MEd., MA, R.Psych). This webinar explores using feedback effectively in mentorship through the lens of self-determination theory (SDT). Facilitators will discuss key elements of feedback such as how often to give it, its intensity, and the best times to provide it along with ways to encourage independence while still fostering growth. Through theory, practical examples, and experiences shared, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their approach to feedback, the ways they seek to meet individual psychological needs and create supportive environments for mentees. Ce séminaire en ligne explorera l’utilisation efficace de la rétroaction d’information (feedback) en mentorat basée sur la théorie de l’autodétermination (TAD). Classification: An Integrated Approach
The EDIA committee invites you to join the conversation on June 14th where we will explore the para-athlete classification process through the lens of CMPC Dr. Sommer Christie (she/her), Head Coach Patrick Côté (he/him), Athletic Therapist Marnie McRoberts (she/her) and Paralympian Shayne Smith. This webinar is based on their lived experiences of the classification process within the sport of wheelchair rugby. It will cover what classification is, the para-athlete experience of classification, the psychological impact of the classification integrated approach to supporting athletes through the classification process, and mental performance-specific recommendations for supporting para-athletes through the classification process. Participants will be exposed to and gain insight into the current research in the area of accessibility and increase their knowledge of how to incorporate the lens of accessibility in their practice as an MPC/CMPC. Transgender Participation in Sport: The Fight for Inclusion in Public Space
The EDIA committee invites you to join the conversation on March 22nd where we will explore Transgender Participation in Sport: The Fight for Inclusion in Public Space through the lens of Dr. Travers (they/them). Transgender and non-binary athletes experience significant obstacles to sport participation that are primarily related to prevalent sex-segregated and/or sex-differentiated institutions, spaces, and activities. This webinar will situate sport participation policies and issues for transgender people in historical and socio-cultural context, explain the moral panic phenomenon, identify appropriate strategies for supporting transgender inclusion in sport, and explore strategies and interventions through cooperative group activity and moderated feedback. This webinar has been approved for 2.0 Continuing Education Unit credits (CEU) for certified CMPCs. Non-CSPA members can join for the price of $75 CAD. Mentorship in Canada: Getting Started, First Meetings, and Common Challenges for Mentors
The CSPA is excited to host a 3 hour workshop - free for CSPA members - that will provide both new and established professional members and mentors the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding about the mentorship process. During the workshop 3 CMPC approved mentors will provide information about how to get started as a mentor, how to develop a mentorship approach, building a productive and effective mentor-mentee relationship, and how to navigate the challenges that mentors and mentees may face. BC Regional Mini-Conference Safety in Sport
The CSPA invites you to join the virtual BC Regional Mini-Conference on November 9th from 12-3pm PST where we will explore Safety in Sport through the lens of leader Andrea Wooles. This conference has been approved by AASP for 2.5 CEU credits with 1.5 dedicated to Ethics and the recording will qualify for 1.5 CEUs for Ethics. The recorded version will omit the breakout rooms and discussion for confidentiality and therefore count for less CEUs. Only BC members can attend the live event but any member can access the recording afterwards. Keeping this event to BC members is to ensure we can manage the nature of the discussion and breakout rooms effectively.

Accessibility in Sport
The EDIA committee invites you to join the conversation on October 13th where we will explore Accessibility in Sport through the lens of leaders Josh Dueck, Dr. Jeffery Martin, and Mike Whitehead and their experiences related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Topics will include: Financial and physical barriers to accessibility in sport, disability, sport, and exercise psychology, and creating accessibility in sport through exploring psychological beliefs and physical systems. This webinar has been approved for 1.75 Continuing Education Unit credits (CEU) for certified CMPCs.

Master Sports & Mental Performance Webinar
The CSPA invites you to join the conversation on September 12th where we will explore Masters Sport & Mental Performance with experts Tyler Makepeace and Bradley Young. Masters sport (i.e., adults 40+) is an ever-growing population. These athletes range from recreational to ultra-competitive, often spending thousands of dollars a year on their sport pursuit. Unfortunately, they often lack the necessary supports to enable a quality sport experience across the lifespan. The purpose of the webinar is to demonstrate how we as service providers can aid Masters athletes in maximizing their sport experience and how these athletes can be viewed as an expansion of our existing clientele. Attendees will understand: a) What mental performance content is most pertinent to Masters athletes; b) How to effectively deliver services to adults; and c) The value in consulting with mature athletes. Following the webinar, you should feel confident in, and know the value of, consulting with Masters athletes and understand the nuances this population presents that is often different than our typical clientele. This webinar has been approved as a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for certified CMPCs. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing inforation about joing the meeting.
