Self-compassion is gaining increased attention in sport psychology as a valuable approach for enhancing athlete coping, well-being, and performance. Despite growing empirical support, many practitioners still struggle to apply self-compassion effectively within competitive sport environments. This interactive webinar aims to help bridge the gap between research and practice by presenting current findings on self-compassion in sport, facilitating collaborative discussions and breakouts, and offering practical strategies for integrating self-compassion with clients. Designed for Professional, Student, and Academic members of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA), as well as Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPCs), this session will equip attendees with practical tools and insights to help athletes, coaches, and practitioners navigate setbacks in ways that foster psychological growth and meaningful success—both in sport and beyond.
Speaker:
Danae Frentz is a mental performance professional in Edmonton, Canada, where she works with competitive youth, university, and semi-professional athletes. Danae holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology alongside a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology, both from the University of Alberta.
