Bio
Dr. Saul Shrom is a mental performance consultant based in Vancouver, Canada. After an NCAA collegiate and professional tennis career, Saul relocated to the UK to study sport psychology – completing an MSc at Loughborough University and a PhD at the University of Birmingham. Saul’s PhD research investigated the psychology of transitioning from junior/collegiate tennis into the professional game.
Saul consulted organizations like British Canoeing, England Athletics, and Loughborough University while living in the UK and has since begun working as a mental performance coach with the high-performance tennis program at Hollyburn Country Club. Saul has extensive experience in tennis working with players of all levels in North America and Europe, as well as with coaches to better develop psychologically informed training environments. Outside of his tennis work, Saul has worked with the Capilano University men’s volleyball team for two seasons, the Hollyburn Huskies hockey program and the Hollyburn Hurricanes Swim Team.
Although his competitive tennis days are behind him, Saul continues to actively pursue fitness, sport, and health related challenges to test his sport psychology principles and to keep his mind sharp for his clients. Saul believes his top characteristic as a mental performance consultant is his ability to develop strong, trusting relationships with his clients and serve as a rock for them in their demanding lives in the high-performance realm.
