Bio

Poppy is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant working independently and with the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport. Poppy is also a Manager at the Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions, and an Investigator at the CHEO Research Institute. Poppy was inspired to pursue a career as an MPC after her long-time training and involvement in the performing arts. She completed both a Master's and PhD in Human Kinetics, Psychosocial Sciences of Sport, at the University of Ottawa.

Poppy’s holistic and collaborative approach to mental performance consulting is focused on helping performers of all kinds to practice and perform optimally with curiosity, optimism, and resilience. She strives to support clients to use their minds and bodies in complementary ways by uncovering, developing, and harnessing their mental, physical, and emotional resources.

Complementary to Poppy’s mental performance consulting work, she also leads applied research, quality standard development, and knowledge mobilization efforts in the child and youth mental health and addictions sector. Her current applied work and research is focused on collaborative and interdisciplinary care, child and youth mental health and substance use health, and system-level initiatives for improved care.
