Biography:Â
Dr. Sommer Christie is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Christie consults with Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coaches, professionals, musicians, surgeons, and performers. Her primary focus is creating a healthy environment/culture for athletes, coaches, and staff and facilitating individual and team performance enhancement through mental skills training, including neurofeedback and biofeedback.
Dr. Christie's research is focused on exploring the cortical dynamics and physiological components associated with optimal performance. In addition, she explores the efficacy of neurofeedback and biofeedback training interventions to enhance performance.
Dr. Christie's personal experience also spans high-performance sports as a National-level rugby player who has competed for Canada in two World Cups, the World University Games, and several international test matches. She was also recently inducted into the Concordia University Sports Hall of Fame.
