Biography:Â
Anthony Battaglia, PhD, CMPC is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology & Health Science at York University. His teaching and research focus on developmentally appropriate and safe sport, coaching, leadership, mental health, relational dynamics, and performance enhancement. As a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, he has worked with athletes, parents, and coaches (recreational-elite levels) in sports such as hockey, soccer, gymnastics, golf, track and field, figure skating, and baseball. He provides education and training on issues including stress and coping, safe sport, psychosocial development, team cohesion, leadership, motivation, confidence building, and relaxation techniques. Informed by his formal education and training in sport psychology, he understands the qualities, characteristics, and mental skills required for fostering personal and performance excellence in a developmentally appropriate and safe manner.
