Biography:Â
Christie is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant working full-time with the Canadian Sport Institute-Pacific and owns her private practice, CGHeadcoach Consulting. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and a Certified High-Performance Practitioner recognized by Sport Scientist Canada. Additionally, Christie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She has been a member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA) since 2000 and held various roles within the association, including British Columbia Regional Representative (2020-2023), Supervision Sub-Committee Chair, and a current member of the Mentorship Committee (2021-2023). Christie is also a longstanding Professional Member of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
She holds a Master of Science in Athletic Counselling from Springfield College, MA., and has supported individuals and teams in all competitive levels of sport including recreational, professional, Olympic (2014, 2018, 2020,2024), and Paralympic (2022). Most recently she attended and served Team Canada athletes at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics (Rowing Canada), as well as the Beijing Paralympics (Team Canada Welfare Officer and Canada Snowboard). Christie also serves as an external consultant with the Pacific Institute of Sport Excellence in Victoria, working with athletes and performers within the local community.
