Transgender Participation in Sport: The Fight for Inclusion in Public Space
The EDIA committee invites you to join the conversation on March 22nd where we will explore Transgender Participation in Sport: The Fight for Inclusion in Public Space through the lens of Dr. Travers (they/them). Transgender and non-binary athletes experience significant obstacles to sport participation that are primarily related to prevalent sex-segregated and/or sex-differentiated institutions, spaces, and activities. This webinar will situate sport participation policies and issues for transgender people in historical and socio-cultural context, explain the moral panic phenomenon, identify appropriate strategies for supporting transgender inclusion in sport, and explore strategies and interventions through cooperative group activity and moderated feedback. This webinar has been approved for 2.0 Continuing Education Unit credits (CEU) for certified CMPCs. Non-CSPA members can join for the price of $75 CAD.
